Fiona started her career working with horses before going to work for the RSPCA as a re-homing co-ordinator; it was during this time she developed an interest in dog behaviour, most specifically in rehabilitating rescue dogs to help them find their forever homes.

After studying at De Montfort University, Fiona opened her own training and behaviour establishment in Lincolnshire which she ran for seven years before moving South in 2002 to join Roger Mugford’s team at The Animal Behaviour Centre as behaviour specialist and centre manager. Fiona continues to work as a consultant for the centre as well as taking direct referrals from local veterinary practices.

She also enjoys promoting the benefits of behavioural therapy in the media; in addition to many appearances on TV and radio she is a popular speaker at veterinary congresses and a regular contributor in veterinary publications.

Fiona remains passionate about animal rescue and lives with her own ‘rescue menagerie’ of three horses, five ex-battery hens, Neil the cat as well as three Australian Cattle Dogs one of whom is profoundly deaf from birth.
